COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AWARDS
Earl B Notestine Award
- Description - Dr. Notestine was a long-time member of the College of Education and served as Associate Dean for Academic Services in the College of Liberal Arts. This award is to recognize, encourage, and promote meritorious contributions in the delivery of student services for the College of Education.
- Nominations - Nominations are handled at the department level and are available to administrative/professional staff in the Academic Services are who have not received the award in the past three years.
Dean's Award for Outstanding Faculty Scholarship
- Description - An award to recognize a COE faculty member for their exceptional scholarly contributioins.
- Nominations - Nominations are to be submitted to the Associate Dean for Discovery and Faculty Development
Outstanding Faculty Teaching
- Description - An award to recognize clinical and tenure-track faculty members who are outstanding university instructors. The winner of this award is the automatic nominee for relevant university teaching recognitions, including the Murphy Award and the Teaching Academy, the following year.
- Nominations - Nominations are handled at the department level. Each department forwards one nominee to the Dean's office. The COE Awards committee selects the winner.

Outstanding Service Award
- Description - An award to recognize COE faculty and staff who have provided outstanding service to the College and its stakeholders. Up to four awards are provided annually.
- Nominations - Nominations are solicited by the Dean's Office and are due to the Dean's Office in February. The COE awards committee selects up to four winners.
Purdue Research Foundation Grants - Yearlong
- Description - The PRF Research Grants are one-year awards made by the Office of the Vice President for Research to assist faculty who supervise Ph.D. research in the development of new or the continuation of ongoing research projects by providing support for a half-time (0.50FTE) PRF Research Assistantship.

Purdue Research Foundation Grants - Summer
- Description - About 40 PRF Summer Faculty Grants (PRF/SFG) will be awarded by the Purdue Research Foundation each year. Summer Faculty Grant awards enable successful applicants to continue full-time scholarly work during the summer and may not be held concurrently with any other appointment.

Purdue Research Foundation Grants - International
- Description - The purpose of the International Travel Grant Program is to assist Purdue faculty members in scholarly attainment by providing a portion of the travel costs to those who will have an active role (presenting papers or serving as officials) at recognized international meetings.

Undergraduate Research Trainee Grants
- Program Description
- Research Experience - Each trainee works with a professor in Education for a period of two semesters in much the same manner as a graduate assistant. In assigning trainees to professors, consideration is given to the student's background and interests as well as to the professor's needs. The cooperating professors are encouraged to involve their trainees in as many of the tasks related to doing research as possible. These tasks include defining a research problem, creating research materials, collecting data, analyzing data, and writing research reports.

PURDUE UNIVERSITY AWARDS
Charles B. Murphy Award
- Description - The Murphy Award honors faculty members for outstanding teaching in all phases of the university’s undergraduate instruction on the West Lafayette campus. It is Purdue’s highest undergraduate teaching award and has been awarded since 1967.
- Nominations - The winner of the COE Outstanding Faculty Instructor Award is the automatic nominee for the Murphy award the following year. Nominations are usually due to the Provost in February. For more information contact the Associate Dean for Learning.
Diversity Fellows
- Description - The purpose of the Diversity Fellows Program is to provide support for faculty development, implementation and sharing of inclusive approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment in the area of diversity. The goal of the DICP is to facilitate faculty development in “teaching diversity” (establishing courses that focus on diversity topics) and “teaching to diversity” (using classroom practices to create a climate that is welcoming of the diversity of our students) in support of the University’s Strategic Plan objective of “enhancing human and intellectual diversity.”
- Nominations - All tenured, tenure-track, and clinical faculty with appointments in the participating Colleges are eligible for consideration.
Service Learning Faculty Fellows
- Description - These $5000 grants are awarded by the Provost’s Office to faculty who have demonstrated leadership and advocacy for service learning in their discipline. They are expected to have contributed to the scholarship of teaching and learning and to use their expertise to enable other Purdue faculty to make the same contributions.
- Nominations - Faculty apply directly to the Provost’s office for this grant, with a courtesy copy to their Department Head and Associate Dean for Learning and/or Engagement.

Teaching Academy Fellows
- Description - The winner of the COE Outstanding Faculty Teaching Awards is the automatic nominee for this award. Nominations are usually due to the Provost in September. For more information contact the Associate Dean for Learning.

Teaching for Tomorrow
- Description - The classes of 1944 and 1945 established this award to develop the teaching potential of the faculty. Each college can nominate two or more assistant professors and one senior faculty member. Each TTT fellow receives $1000 in professional development funds; each senior faculty team leader receives $2000 in professional development funds and $2500 to offset release time.
- Nominations - Nominations are handled at the department level; nominees must address the university application requirements.
