DOCTORAL RECRUITMENT FELLOWSHIPS
Frederick N. Andrews Fellowship (Assistantship)

The Andrews Fellowship is a Graduate School recruitment fellowship for students admitted to the College of Education (COE) for Fall 2009/Spring 2010 as doctoral students in a degree-granting program. It is the most prestigious fellowship awarded in the College of Education and usually is administered as an assistantship. Andrews Fellows receive four years of funding, with two years funded by the Graduate School and two years by the Department.
Ross Fellowship (Assistantship)

The Ross Fellowship is a Graduate School recruitment fellowship of doctoral-seeking students admitted to the College of Education for Fall 2009 or Spring 2010 to a degree-granting graduate program. Ross Fellowships usually are administered as assistantships. Ross Fellows receive four years of funding, with one year funded by the Graduate School and three years by the Department.
Purdue Doctoral Fellowship (Assistantship)

The Purdue Doctoral Fellowship is a Graduate School recruitment fellowship for doctoral-seeking graduate students who will enhance the diversity of the graduate student body in the College of Education through their diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Applicants must submit an essay on diversity, which is a component of the selection process. Purdue Doctoral Fellows receive two years of support funded by the Graduate School, with two years funded by the Department, and have assistantship responsibilities.
Dean's Graduate Student Travel Support Nomination
Partial support is available for graduate students who have authored or co-authored an accepted paper that will be presented at a national or international conference. This award is on a first-come, first-served basis and students can only be awarded one per year.
COE Dean’s Graduate Student Support Program Nomination
The COE Dean’s Graduate Student Support Program is designed to assist doctoral students, who are enrolled in graduate programs in the College of Education, in defraying the expenses of student-initiated learning, discovery, and engagement projects. Awards will be in form of an S&E account of up to $250. Applications are due September 30 and funds must be expended by May 15th.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Program area scholarships at the graduate level have been created through generous donors. Each scholarship has specific criteria. Faculty in the program areas select the recipients from eligible students.

Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship
Nomination Form Rubric
The Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship is a Graduate School fellowship which provides support to an outstanding College of Education Ph.D. candidate in the final year of doctoral degree completion. Applicants must have completed their coursework, passed their qualifying examinations, and have an approved dissertation proposal. See detailed information of the College of Education criteria and selection procedures (DOC). There are no assistantship expectations for Bilsland Fellows.
College of Education Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award Nomination Rubric
Description - This award recognizes graduate teaching assistants for their current teaching efforts at the graduate and undergraduate level. Nominations are handled through the departments. Each department has one winner, and one of them is selected for the College award. A certificate and monetary award is given.
College of Education Outstanding Dissertation Award Nomination Rubric
This award recognizes an outstanding doctoral dissertation. Nominations are handled through the departments. Each department has one winner, and one of them is selected for the College award. A certificate and monetary award is given.
Dean's Doctoral Scholarship Award Nomination Rubric
This award is given to an outstanding doctoral student in the College of Education who is currenlty involved in completing dissertation research. To be eligible you must show potential for or have demonstrated national leadership with excellence in discovery, learning, and/or engagement.
PURDUE AWARDS
CETA Award for Excellence in Teaching
This award is given by the Committee on the Education of Teaching Assistants (CETA) and the Office of the Provost. Students are nominated by departments. Each winner receives a plaque. The recipients then become eligible to receive the Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award.
Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award
Recipients of the Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award are from nominations by departments of previous CETA Award winners, including current year inductees. Applicants must be registered as full-time graduate students during the semester in which applications are due. Each student receives a plaque and a $500 monetary award. This is the highest award presented by the University to recognize graduate student teachers.
MAGS Distinguished Master's Thesis Award 2010 Guidelines 2010 Nomination
This award is given by the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) to recognize and reward distinguished scholarship and research at the master's level. Each intsitution may submit one nomination with endorsement of the Dean of the Graduate School. The recipient of the award will receive a $750 honorarium and the institution will receive up to $750 for the winners travel expenses to attend the Annual Meeting in April.
