Enrichment Education Specialist 

Job Description:
This position is responsible for coordinating and running student programs for the Gifted Education Resource Institute (GERI). These programs include Super Saturday, Super Summer, and Summer Residential enrichment programs for talented P-12 youth. Responsibilities also include focusing on public relations and student recruitment for GERI's programs. Twenty-five percent of the full-time 10-month position is designated as a continuing lecturer position. Instructing courses for the Educational Studies Department such as EDPS 430, Creating and Managing Learning Environments, for elementary education majors. In instructing this course, the lecturer will work with undergraduate students, graduate teaching assistants, and a faculty course coordinator to ensure effective delivery of content and methods.
  
Qualifications Required:

 *   Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
 *   One year of education experience.
 *   Knowledge of p-12 education and gifted education.
 *   Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 *   Ability to work with undergraduates, parents, and p-12 children.
 *   Strong organizational and "people" skills.
 *   If candidate does not have a license in gifted education, then we expect
that he/she will complete the 4 licensure courses offered by Purdue
within 3 years of hire.
 
Preferred:
 
 *   Master's degree in education or related field.
 *   Classroom experience.
 *   Program experience.
 *   Teaching  license with gifted license.
