Where are my favorites / bookmarks?
Favorites are represented by a Star
and is called the "favorites center". The "favorites center" Star is found near the upper left of the IE7 window.
Click the favorites center Star to see your favorites.
How do I create a new favorite / bookmark?
To create a new favorite / bookmark, click the add favorite Star
or press Ctrl+D. The "Add a Favorite" window will appear:
Select the "Add" button to add the new favorite to the default folder, or select a new folder in which to save the new favorite. If you would like to create a new folder, click the "New Folder" button.
Where are the "reload" and "stop" buttons?
The "Reload" button now looks like this:
The "Stop" button (which stops the page from loading) now looks looks this:

The print button looks like this:
The "Print" button is found on the main toolbar which by default is near the top right of the IE7 window:
To immediately print the visible web page to the default printer, single click the print button. Clicking the Print button causes printing to begin immediately. Be careful not to print large web pages by mistake!
To select which printer to print to and adjust printer options before printing, click the down arrow next to the printer button and you will see the following options:
Select "Print..." for more printing options such as which printer to use, number of copies, which pages to print, and other printer specific options.
How do I turn on / off ClearType font rendering?
ClearType is a technology that smoothes the edges of fonts in an attempt to make text more readable, especially when text is small. The smoothing effect can sometimes make the text look "fuzzy". Some people like ClearType, but others find that it causes eye strain. IE7 typically enables ClearType by default. If you would like to enable/disable ClearType, do the following...

This will cause the Internet Options box to appear. Click the "Advanced" tab and then scroll down to the "Multimedia" section of advanced settings. Check or un-check the box next to "Always use ClearType for HTML":

What are Tabs and how do I open a new Tab?
IE7 has a new feature called "Tabbed Browsing". "Tabbed Browsing" allows you to open multiple web pages without opening multiple copies of IE7. Each of the pages is assigned its own Tab and you can click a Tab to between pages. Here is an example of multiple Tabs (four tabs are showing in the red box below):
To open a page in a new Tab, you can either Ctrl-click a link or you can right-click a link and select, "Open in New Tab":
To switch to another Tab, simply click the Tab. To close a Tab, click the small x on the tab.
If you want to configure IE7 to open pop-ups in a new Tab instead of a new window, do the following:

How do I go "forward" and "back"?

How do I turn on the Pop-up Blocker?
The IE7 pop-up blocker prevents unwanted pop-ups from appearing as you navigate to unknown web sites. You can add specific web sites to the IE7 pop-up blocker to allow them to use pop-ups on your computer.
To turn on the pop-up blocker do the following:

When you click the "Tools" button you'll see a menu. Select "Pop-up Blocker" > "Turn On Pop-up Blocker":
How do I turn on the Phishing filter?
The Phishing filter scans web links and web pages for possible malicious sites that may try to steal your personal information or damage your computer.
To turn on the Phishing filter do the following:
Click the "Tools" button:

When you click the "Tools" button you'll see a menu. Select "Phishing Filter " > "Turn On Automatic Website Checking":
You may be prompted for confirmation. If so, click OK:

You can save most web pages to your local computer. To save a web page, do the following...
Click the "Page" button:

When you click the "Page" button you'll see a menu. Select "Save As":
How do I zoom and change the size of text?
ZOOMING:
IE7 allows you to easily zoom in/out to enlarge/shrink the page you are viewing. A quick way to do this is to hold down the control key and rotate the wheel on your mouse (ctrl+wheel).
Another way to zoom is to use the zoom button found at the bottom right of IE7:

Click the small down arrow and a menu will appear. Select a new zoom setting:

If you want to change the text size without zooming the entire page, do the following...
Click the "Page" button:
The "Page" button is found on the main toolbar which by default is near the top right of the IE7 window:
When you click the "Page" button you'll see a menu. Select "Text Size " and then select a new size:
When IE7 has loaded many Tabs, the Tabs may "bunch up", becoming small and unreadable. The "quick tabs" feature allows you to see thumbnails of all the pages you currently have open in IE7. Here is an example of 10 Tabs:
Click the quick tabs button
which is located to the left of the Tabs. You will now see the quick tabs overview of the 10 pages. You can click a thumbnail to switch to that page:
You can also select the small down arrow next to the quick tabs button to quick-jump to a Tab.
IE7 allows you to have one or more home pages. Each time you launch IE7 it will load the home page(s) that you have configured. The home pages(s) also load when you click the Home button.

To configure your home page(s) do the following:

When you click the "Tools" button you'll see a menu. Select "Internet Options":

This will cause the Internet Options box to appear. On the General Tab you'll find the "Home page" section. Enter your home page(s) one per line:
How do I turn on / off the Menu bar?
By default, IE7 does not show the Menu bar. Microsoft has implemented all of the important IE7 features in the new main toolbar and navigation bar.
The main toolbar looks like this:

However, if you would like to turn on the Menu bar, it is still available. You can temporarily activate the Menu bar at any time by pressing the ALT key. When you press the ALT key the Menu bar will appear:
If you would like the Menu bar to always be visible, right click a blank area within the toolbar area. You will see the toolbar pop-up menu and can select the Menu bar:
How do I view / delete the browsing history?
To view the history of web pages you have visited, click the Favorites Center Star
.
The "favorites center" Star is found near the upper left of the IE7 window.
When the Favorites Center appears, click the History button and then click the day view history for that day:
To delete the history for a given day, right click a day (as shown above) and select "delete".
To delete the entire IE7 history, do the following:

When you click the "Tools" button you'll see a menu. Select "Internet Options":

This will cause the Internet Options box to appear. On the General Tab you'll find the "Browsing history " section. Click the "Delete" button:
This will cause the "Delete Browsing History" page to appear. Click "Delete history" to delete just the history, or click other buttons to delete other cached items. You can also click "Delete all" near the bottom to clear all cached data from IE7:

To place IE7 in full-screen mode, press F11 or do the following:

When you click the "Tools" button you'll see a menu. Select "Full Screen ":
Press F11 again to exit full-screen mode.
The Links bar gives you toolbar space where you can create buttons for frequently used web sites. When you visit a web site, you can drag the small icon next to a web address in the navigation bar to the Links bar. The Links bar may not be turned on by default. To turn it on, do the following:
Right click a blank area within the toolbar area. You will see the toolbar pop-up menu and can select Links:

icon to the Links bar.
