Purdue VPN Configuration

For PC, Windows ME, 2000, XP

How to configure a computer to use the Purdue VPN...

(1) Go to Network Connections (found in the Control Panel) and create a new connection:

(2) Follow the wizard prompts.   These prompts are for Windows XP, but should be similar for Windows ME and 2000...

(3) Connect to a Workplace...

(4) Select Virtual Private Network...

(5) Type a generic name such a Purdue...

(6) Enter the name of the Purdue VPN server: vpn.purdue.edu

(7) If you are prompted for connection availability, select My use only...

(8) Select Finish to complete the wizard...

(9) You should be prompted for an ID and PW.  Use your Purdue Career Account (or use a temp PAL account):

(10) If you are not automatically prompted for ID & PW, or your connection times out, you can manually connect to the VPN server: (a) Return to Network Connections, (b) Right click the VPN entry, (c) Select Connect...

(11) You're on the Purdue VPN!
