Out of Office Assistant
When you leave the office for an extended period of time, you may wish to enable an auto-response mechanism that tells people where you are and why you may not be answering email. MS Outlook contains this functionality with a feature called Out of Office Assistant (OOA). The Out of Office Assistant will send one email message to each person who sends you email while the OOA is active. You can create your own message to be automatically sent. The OOA can be activated via MS Outlook and via the OWA web interface:

Log into Outlook, go to the Tools Menu, and select Out of Office Assistant ...

Select "I am currently Out of the Office" and type an "away" message ...
Most users should ignore the "Rules" section and simply click OK to activate the auto response. Send yourself a test message to see if it is working as expected.

Log into OWA (http://exchange.purdue.edu/) and select Options from the Outlook Bar at bottom left...

Select "I am currently Out of the Office" and type an "away" message ...
Click OK to activate the auto response. Send yourself a test message to see if it is working as expected.

Go to the Outlook or OWA Out of Office Assistant

Select "I am currently In the office"
