Home Networking Made Easy! Many people have expressed an interest in setting up a home network (wired and/or wireless) yet do not feel confident to perform the installation. We encourage users to contact a local commercial computer support shop for assistance. Many computer consultants can be found in the phone book. A few examples (not recommendations) might include: Computers Made Easy, Best Buy, Circuit City, others. if you have high speed Internet service installed in your home and have a 2nd computer that you would like to have internet access on, you can set up a home network. You may want to consider, among others, a Cable/DSL Router+Firewall from Linksys. The process of networking may seem like a complicated undertaking. But with today's software and hardware, many users find that it can be a painless procedure. With a Linksys Router, a diagram of your home network might look like the following.
In this example, 2 computers, each with an Ethernet card, are attached to a Router and high speed cable or DSL modem access. Simply plug your computers into the router, plug the router into your DSL or cable modem, and plug the modem into your phone or cable service.
