Purdue's College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Indiana Professional Standards Board.
For the 2005-2006 academic year, the College of Education enrolled 986 undergraduate and 519 graduate students on the West Lafayette campus.
During the 2004-2005, the College of Education granted 237 undergraduate degrees, 104 master's degrees, 42 doctoral degrees, and 3 education specialist degrees.
Phillip VanFossen is the James F. Ackerman Professor of Social Studies Education-one of just 16 named professors campus-wide.

Undergraduates have a choice of three majors - elementary education, social studies education, and special education. Additional teaching majors are offered through other Purdue colleges in collaboration with the College of Education.
