Process for Offering a Program
for Certification Renewal Units
through Purdue University
To offer a
program for Certification Renewal Units (CRUs) through Purdue University,
please submit the following information to the Office of Professional
Preparation and Licensure (OPPL) via
licensure@purdue.edu or campus mail (Beering Hall, Room 3229).

Contact Hours/Certification Renewal Units (Number of contact hours divided by 2 and round down)
Brief
program summary. In addition to this summary, please indicate how specific
Division of Professional Standards Content and Developmental Standards (http://www.doe.state.in.us/dps/standards/)
and K-12 Indiana Academic Standards (http://www.indianastandards.org/)
will be addressed in the curriculum of the program being offered. For
examples, view “mapping” guides (http://www.education.purdue.edu/ncate/Programs/MappingGuides.htm)
completed by Purdue University faculty for its Teacher Education Program
areas.
Please be detailed and specific.
Whether this course has been offered previously (since January 1, 2004).
If a brochure is submitted, please provide two copies.
If the
above information is sent electronically, please send it as an e-mail
attachment and not as a list of items in the body of the e-mail message.
After the
above information has been received, the program will be reviewed. Upon
approval, OPPL will assign a number for the CRU program. OPPL will notify you
indicating approval and the assigned number to be used on the appropriate
forms.
Copy the
Participant’s Official Certificate to your letterhead. Complete
the form for each participant in the
class. The program sponsor signs as the “Authorized Representative.” A
certificate should be provided to each participant at the end of the course.
Immediately upon the completion of the course, the faculty member (program sponsor) completes the Verification of Attendance and the Participants List and submits both forms to OPPL by campus mail. OPPL will submit these forms to the Division of Professional Standards along with program information.
