Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

The College of Education and Center for Advancing the Teaching and Learning of STEM (CATALYST) hosted a Solar Eclipse Safe Viewing Party and it was a huge success! We estimate there were around 2,000 students, faculty, staff and community members in attendance. Many made new friends as they shared the eclipse viewing lenses to safely view the eclipse. We rewarded those with the correct answers to trivia questions with solar eclipse t-shirts and moon pies.

David Sederberg, physics and astronomy outreach coordinator, had a sun viewer on site and Sanjay Rebello, professor of science education and physics and astronomy, provided a brief talk about eclipses.
