College of Education Chief Development Officer Chelsea Coursey awarded CFRE designation

Chelsea Coursey, Chief Development Officer in the College of Education at Purdue University, was recently awarded the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential. Coursey joins over 7,500 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation, which signifies a confident, ethical fundraising professional.

Individuals granted the CFRE credential by Certified Fundraising Executive International have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, and demonstrated fundraising achievement. They have also passed a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive, and have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights.

“The CFRE is a credential that places significant emphasis on professional practice and performance as well as education,” said Coursey. “The designation shows our alumni, friends, and fans that I will follow best practices in helping them through the journey of making their philanthropic gift to Purdue.”

Coursey joined the College of Education in 2017. She earned a BS in Speech Communication with emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing and Journalism, and a Master of Business Administration, both from Southern Illinois University.
