College welcomes new senior director of development

The College will welcome Tammy Maynard as the new Senior Director of Development, effective April 3, 2023.

Tammy Maynard

Since February 2020, Maynard has served the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, most recently as Senior Director of Development, where she secured $7.4 million via 24 gifts within her first two years. She also recently closed a $7M gift in support of the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Previously, Maynard served as Director of Development for the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. In that role, she closed six gifts for the Gateway Complex and spearheaded more than 80 major gift proposals. Maynard’s talents, solid development background, and business expertise extend beyond Purdue for Life with over 23 years of service in the logistics and transportation industry with Lanter Delivery Systems, Inc. During her time as a national account manager, she skillfully oversaw a portfolio of $20 million.

In her role with the College of Education, Maynard will report to David Williams as part of The Neighborhood, which includes the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Education, Purdue Libraries and the School of Information Studies, and the John Martinson Honors College.

“We are delighted that Tammy is joining the College of Education team as she will play a key role in carrying our message about the great work going on in the College to our friends and supporters, and she will draw on her experience as a health and physical education graduate of IUPUI,” said Phillip J. VanFossen, interim dean.

Maynard has a strong passion for volunteering in the Lafayette community, including at her daughter’s school through the Harrison High School Athletic Booster Club. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years, Brian, and their daughter, Bella, age 17. She also enjoys taking cycling classes at the YMCA and traveling often with her family.
