Master’s of Science (MSEd) in Family and Consumer Sciences Education

The master’s degree program depends upon the background, competencies and interests of the student. Thesis and non-thesis options are available. A minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate credit are required. These hours may include a master’s integrated project, a comprehensive examination, and/or final oral examination which is an exit requirement for the individual programs. The thesis option requires the student to complete at least 6 credit hours of guided research. Students desiring to eventually pursue the Ph.D. degree are encouraged to select the thesis option. Specific course requirements to be determined with the student’s major professor and/ or committee.
