A Message from the Department Head

Welcome to the Department of Curriculum and Instruction! No matter your focus—K-12 education, higher education, or business and industry— you will be prepared for a rewarding and challenging career with a degree from Purdue’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Our dedicated faculty offer challenging coursework and research opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as numerous opportunities to gain real-world experience through engagement with local, state, national, and international schools and communities. In C&I, we aspire daily to provide first-rate educational leadership in an increasingly diverse, interconnected, and technology-rich world.

As an elementary education major at Purdue, I have had many real-world, classroom experiences to develop my teaching skills.I have taught and observed in classrooms nearly every semester while earning my degree, including an amazing experience at Chicago Public Schools. I am also pursuing a global studies minor which will make me even more prepared to teach in today's classrooms.
