The mission of the Evaluation and Learning Research Center (ELRC) is to enhance learning by conducting original research and evaluation that pushes the boundaries of our understanding of education . The Center supports research, education and engagement projects through our expertise in educational theory, research methodology, evaluation, and project management. We partner with both those at Purdue University, including other centers and institutes, and those outside the university to enhance accountability and reputation.

Our professional staff provide expertise in:

  • Educational research and theory
  • Research and evaluation design and methodology
  • Front-end, formative, summative, and program evaluation
  • Evaluation frameworks

Message from the Director

The ELRC is nationally recognized for conducting rigorous research and evaluation. Maintaining a portfolio of 20 active projects, the ELRC adds credibility and value to over 40 proposals each year, and consults with faculty across the Purdue University campus and beyond on a host of nascent stage projects. ELRC scholarship propels Purdue into the national conversation surrounding evidence-based education reform. ELRC:

  • Conducts original research that pushes the boundaries of our understanding of education and educational best practice;
  • Supports research, education, and engagement projects through expertise in educational theory, evaluation, and project management; and
  • Partners with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance accountability, visibility, and reputation.
