Research areas of interest include: instructional strategies that gain and/or foster attention and enable formative assessment of students during direct instruction; motivation and instructional strategies and/or techniques to increase less motivated students’ desire to learn; differentiation of instruction; assessment used to drive instruction and foster increased student learning; and university supervisor training in best practices to increase their use by student teachers.
