Sangeetha Gopalakrishnan, Ph.D., is Assistant Dean for Online and Learning Innovation at the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her role, she provides strategic leadership in conceptualizing and implementing traditional and non-traditional online programs to meet the needs of diverse audiences and oversees all aspects of online program administration at the college. Her research interests include best practices and leadership strategies for implementing successful online programs at universities, technology integration in teaching, and instructional design. She also has extensive online teaching experience having taught for the fully online master’s program in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue for many years. She also has a background in foreign language education having taught German at the Goethe Institute in Chennai, India. Previously, she was director of the Foreign Language Technology Center at Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit. She received a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University in 2011 and a M.S. in Educational Technology from Purdue University in 2001. She is past president of the International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT)..
