Online graduate education programs in top 10% nationally

The College of Education online graduate education programs received distinction from U.S. News & World Report rankings on Tuesday, Jan. 9 in their 2018 Best Online Programs Rankings.

The report listed the College of Education programs as 21st nationally among the 219 colleges and universities listed. The ranking is a jump from the college’s number 35 spot last year.

The rankings are available at www.usnews.com/education/online-education.

U.S. News and World Report examined each program in five categories: student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, student services and technology, and admissions selectivity.

The categories were weighted differently depending on the online program’s study focus. Rankings were determined using questionnaires sent to public, private and for-profit institutions that granted master’s degrees in specific programs.

Additional statistical information then was collected from those institutions with online programs. Separate surveys were conducted to establish statistics on peer reputation.
