Greece Maymester Study Abroad Program

In this section:

The program will take place in Itea and Athens with a variety of interactive learning experiences in surrounding villages and cities; including school visits, interviews with local school administration and teachers, archeological tours, and walking tours.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received and decisions will be given to students within one week of submission of the program application found at until the maximum number of students is reached.

Program costs will include the following:

  • Course registration
  • Emergency Medical Insurance
  • Housing Accommodations
  • Meals (only those outlined in the Travel Itinerary; ALL BREAKFASTS AND DINNERS, and some lunches)
  • Transportation to/from the host airport and living accommodations
  • Transportation to/from trips and excursions
  • Study abroad sponsored activities (all those outlined in the Travel Itinerary)
  • Estimated $3,950

Financial Aid & Scholarships

There are numerous financial aid and scholarship opportunities offered by Purdue University to cover some or all of the costs for study abroad programs.

Academic Information

This program allows students across the Purdue campus to earn up to 7 credits during a 3-week study abroad in Greece. Undergraduates can take EDPS 265 – The Inclusive Classroom (3 credits), EDPS 490 – Greece: Education, Agriculture, and Policy Past and Present (3-6 credits), and/or EDPS 490 – Global Studies Seminar (1 credit). Graduate students can take EDPS 590 – Greece: Education, Agriculture, and Policy Past and Present (3-6) credits and/or EDPS 590 – Individual Research Project in Greek Education (3-6 credits).
