The Bell Tower and Hovde Hall on a brisk snowy day

Welcome back, College of Education students, faculty, and staff! I hope your winter break was full of rest and relaxation, leaving you ready to begin the Spring 2021 semester with enthusiasm and passion.

I am extremely excited to see what the upcoming semester holds. I know that our College of Education students will take every learning opportunity in stride. However, we have even harder work ahead. It will take each of us listening and understanding each other to ensure a safe and healthy campus and a community where we can continue our vital missions of learning, research, and engagement. These challenges are not new to us, and if this upcoming semester is anything like the last, we will take all of the necessary precautions to ensure that we make it through the upcoming semester in full.

As COVID-19 is still affecting our everyday lives, it doesn’t negate the fact that classes, research, writing, studying, and learning of all kind continue. We must continue to uphold the Protect Purdue Pledge and do our part to keep the Purdue community safe.

No matter the situation, no matter our differences, no matter the tensions of the world, as members of the Purdue community, we work together to find solutions. We work together to build a better world. The adversity we may face will provide opportunities for us to grow as a community.

Thank you for all you did in the fall semester and all you will do to ensure a safe and productive spring semester. I wish you every success in the coming semester!

Boiler up!
